Ryan Mayer

Operations Manager, Morehead City, NC SSA Marine

Ryan Mayer has been in the maritime world since 2003, when he started out as a stevedore while studying logistics and business management at East Carolina University. Over the years, he’s built-up solid experience in breakbulk, bulk, and project cargos, and now leads operations at the Morehead City Port Terminal as General Manager for SSA Atlantic.  

He also serves as President of the North Carolina Shipping Association, where he helps support and grow the state’s shipping industry.

Ryan’s known for being a strong team builder, a problem solver, and someone who’s always looking for ways to improve and diversify operations. He’s approachable, dependable, and brings a lot of energy and experience to everything he does.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys fishing and hunting with family and friends, it’s his way of unwinding and staying connected to what matters most.
