Education Day Program
Students will learn what it takes to build and sustain successful careers in the breakbulk and project cargo industry through insights from seasoned professionals and emerging industry leaders. Education is essential for career changers and students to bridge the current talent gap, and vital to the future of our industry.
Expect a day of educational panels and interactive sessions, followed by the poster competition awards ceremony and an ECMC-led exhibition tour to connect and network with leading companies across the project cargo supply chain.

Make High-level Connections
The Exporters Competitive Maritime Council (ECMC) will once again lead the student tours on the exhibition floor. The influential group, consisting of leading U.S. EPCs, manufacturers and global forwarders, will introduce students to a variety of exhibitors to get a clear picture of their career options in this exciting industry.

Celebrating Student Innovation
Join us for our annual Student Research Poster Competition, where undergraduate teams from leading Texas universities including University of Houston, Texas A&M Galveston and Rice University present innovative research on global capital projects, sustainability, port infrastructure and energy transition. This showcase highlights the next generation of industry talent and their fresh perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the breakbulk and project cargo sector.
Creating Opportunity
Margaret Kidd, Instructional Associate Professor of University of Houston's supply chain and logistics technology program, has been a groundbreaking advocate for Breakbulk's Education Day. She is a primary connector between students and professionals, knowing that identifying talent early is the key to building tomorrow's leaders.
