Cody Hernandez
Terminal Manager – Bayport Container Terminal PORT HOUSTON
Cody Hernandez graduated from Texas A&M University at Galveston with a Bachelors in Maritime Administration in 2013. Cody began working for Port Houston as an Operations Superintendent at the Barbours Cut container terminal the same year.
After 5 years in the Operations Superintendent role he was promoted to Yard Planning Manager of Barbours Cut and Bayport where he grew the yard planning group into an interdepartmental collaborative effort that supports operations in both container yards. Last year Cody moved into the role of Terminal Manager at the Bayport Container Terminal. In this role he manages all aspects of the container and vessel operations including directly managing a 13-person operations team, coordinating ILA labor, and maintaining relationships with various ocean carriers.
Throughout his career at Port Houston, Cody has enjoyed mentoring and inspiring leadership in the next generation of talent in the maritime industry.
