Director – Advanced Nuclear Market Development Barnhart Crane & Rigging

Kris Meyer, P.E. is Director of Advanced Nuclear Market Development at Barnhart Crane and Rigging, where he leads engagement across the advanced nuclear sector from project concept and design through transportation, heavy lift planning, and final installation. Barnhart supports the full Small Modular Reactor (SMR) lifecycle, providing engineering, fabrication, logistics, and installation solutions that enable successful project execution.

Since joining Barnhart in 2014, Kris has focused on commercial nuclear energy, SMR development, and U.S. Department of Energy initiatives. A licensed Professional Engineer, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee and previously spent nine years as a consulting engineer specializing in infrastructure and development projects.

Kris is actively involved in industry and community leadership, serving on the Board of Directors for the East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC) and on the Knoxville Young Life committee. He was honored with the 2025 ETEC Postma Young Professional Award and resides in Knoxville, Tennessee, with his wife and two daughters.
