Destination 2030: The Breakbulk Americas Scenario Contest

How will the U.S. domestic manufacturing boom reshape the project cargo supply chain by 2030?

Share your vision, win prizes, and see your ideas debated live on the Breakbulk Americas stage, Wednesday, Sept. 23, as part of the "What If? Mapping the Future of American Manufacturing" session.

The Prompt for Your Scenario

The United States has set ambitious goals to rebuild and expand domestic manufacturing, from semiconductors and batteries to energy equipment, industrial facilities, data centers and advanced materials.

Imagine it is 2030. Looking back, how has this industrial transformation reshaped project cargo and breakbulk logistics across North America? What new project types, cargo flows, trade corridors, transportation modes, and logistics partnerships have emerged? How have customer expectations changed? What role have ports, railroads, trucking companies, heavy-lift carriers, EPCs, and technology providers played in enabling this growth?

Where have the greatest constraints appeared: labor, permitting, infrastructure, equipment availability, grid capacity, trade policy, geopolitics, or something else? Which regions have benefited most, and which have struggled to adapt?

Most importantly, what surprised the industry, including one widely held assumption in 2026 that proved wrong by 2030?

Your scenario may be optimistic, cautionary, or mixed. We are looking for plausible, thought-provoking insights that challenge conventional assumptions and help project logistics professionals prepare for the future.
