Day One Highlights and what to expect today!
What an incredible start to Breakbulk Americas 2025 we have had! The Welcome Reception (sponsored by Cooper/Ports America) kicked off the show in style with Mardi Gras celebrations as we honored our roots in New Orleans. The 35th anniversary celebrations carried on into the night at the After-Party at The Rustic (sponsored by Port Houston and co-sponsors DFW International Airport and TICO) where the industry connected over Texan BBQ, live music and a whole lot of dancing. See you on the exhibition floor for day two!

KEYNOTE: A New Era of U.S. Maritime Strategy
Dr. Salvatore R. Mercogliano takes to the Main Stage to explore the driving forces behind the Act and what they mean for U.S. industry and global partners. The SHIPS for America Act marks a major shift in U.S. maritime policy, with ambitious long-term goals to revitalize shipbuilding, grow the Strategic Commercial Fleet, and strengthen the workforce. In the near term, stronger enforcement of Cargo Preference laws and increased policy momentum are already reshaping how government cargo is allocated and how U.S.-flag carriers engage commercially. Added to this, Section 301 tariffs are shifting cargo flows and sourcing decisions, creating both challenges and opportunities.
