Heavy Duty Transaxle is North America's largest independent AxleTech and Meritor distributor, specializing in drivetrain parts and service for off-highway, load-intense applications — including port operations, mining, steel mills, construction, agriculture, forestry, and material handling. Family-owned since 1995, HDT supports the operators who can't afford downtime. Comprehensive Parts Inventory HDT stocks over 100,000 line items, including new OEM, used, and obsolete hard-to-find drivetrain components. In addition to AxleTech and Meritor, we are an authorized distributor for Kessler, Sisu Axles, Dana, Eaton, Fabco, ZF, Hendrickson, Stemco, and Timken. We support the major lift truck and terminal tractor brands operating in ports and heavy industry worldwide — including Taylor Machine Works, Kalmar, Hyster, CVS Ferrari, Fantuzzi, Terberg, Toyota, and Sany — as well as on-highway brands such as Kenworth, International, and Peterbilt. Axle and Differential Rebuilding Our in-house service center rebuilds axles and differentials to OEM specifications, including specialized work for municipal fire apparatus fleets. Whether you need a planetary hub rebuild for a container handler or a complete drive axle exchange for a yard tractor, HDT delivers documented, warranted work with full traceability. Technical Training HDT provides technical training for drivetrain repair, both in person and through on-demand digital programs. Our curriculum includes AxleTech/Meritor and Kessler axle systems — two of the most prevalent manufacturers in port and heavy-haul equipment. In-person training is delivered at customer facilities or at HDT's service center, with hands-on teardown and reassembly. Our digital library, available through our proprietary LMS, gives fleet technicians 24/7 access to service manuals, troubleshooting guides, and procedural video content — supporting in-house maintenance teams that need to extend skills across shifts and locations. Diagnostics HDT is an authorized TEXA distributor, supplying the diagnostic tooling that pairs with the drivetrains and machines we service. Why Breakbulk Operators Choose HDT Ports, terminals, and heavy-haul fleets run on tight cycle times. HDT's combination of deep inventory, OEM relationships, rebuild capability, and technician training means a single phone call can resolve a parts issue, schedule a rebuild, and upskill the crew that will maintain the equipment going forward.
