Volga-Dnepr Opens Houston Operations Base

For oversized and super-heavy cargoes at George Bush Intercontinental Airport

Air freight specialist Volga-Dnepr Group has opened a new operations base for oversized and super-heavy cargoes at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.

The new base will serve breakbulk customers across North and South America and will strengthen links with existing customers in the oil and gas, heavy machinery, energy and aerospace sectors. The base will be staffed by load planning engineers and loadmasters, operations, navigation and ground handling specialists.

“With the inauguration of the new operations base, the group will dedicate one of its 12 Antonov An-124-100 freighter aircraft as well as crews, technical support teams and special loading equipment for unique cargoes to the Houston facility,” said Konstantin Vekshin, executive president at Volga-Dnepr Group.

Based in eastern Russia, Volga-Dnepr Airlines provides air charter services for breakbulk transport via a fleet of Antonov An-124 and IL-76TD-90VD (Stage IV) cargo aircraft.
