Ports of Indiana is a statewide port authority that operates a system of three ports on the Ohio River and Lake Michigan, serving as major multimodal hubs for the heartland of America. Indiana ranks 13th in the nation for waterborne shipping and provides the only statewide port system with direct waterway access to two coasts: Atlantic Coast via the Great Lakes and Gulf Coast via the Ohio-Mississippi Rivers. Indiana Ports also rank first among inland ports and second among Great lakes ports for cargo shipments.
