Ports of Indiana
The Ports of Indiana is a statewide port authority with three ports on the Ohio River and Lake Michigan that serve as major multimodal hubs for the Heartland of America. Indiana ranks 12th in the nation for waterborne shipping and provides the only statewide port system with direct waterway access to two coasts: Atlantic Coast via the Great Lakes and Gulf Coast via the Ohio-Mississippi Rivers. Fast emerging as a freight distribution leader, Indiana also ranks first in total pass-through interstates, third in freight railroads and sixth in domestic waterborne shipping.
