Yorck Niclas Prehm is a dedicated Multipurpose and Heavylift shipping enthusiast. In his 20+ years career in the business he held various positions in Sales, Chartering, Tonnage Procurement, Project Management and Market analysis with leading Breakbulk Carriers, Shipowners and Brokers. In April 2019 he joined Toepfer Transport GmbH as Head of Research and took over the responsibility for the Toepfer’s quarterly Multipurpose Shipping Report, the monthly European Shortsea Shipping Report, the Toepfer Multipurpose and European Shortsea Indices, asset valuations and bespoke research products. He acts as consultant and expert witness in commercial maritime dispute resolution and is a member of the German Maritime Arbitration Association.

Toepfer Transport GmbH is a long-established Hamburg based boutique ship broker with branch  offices in Shanghai and Singapore. The company provides expertise in ship sale & purchase, contracting of newbuildings, research, valuations and ship finance. Toepfer Transport has a strong focus on MPP/Heavylift tonnage, Shortsea Vessels as well as on Containerships, Bulk carriers and Tankers. The Research Department offers various research publications as well as bespoke reports with a unique close-to-the-market approach.
