Rickard Lindstroem, Program Manager of Clean Cargo, Smart Freight Centre. Has been in the business of “maritime sustainability” since 2012, recent 5 years mostly focusing on the GHG part. Between 2018-2020 Director of the Swedish initiative Clean Shipping Index deployed by the Swedish Government to provide fairway fee discounts for green(er) vessels calling Swedish waters. Educated at Chalmers University of Technology at its Shipping and Logistics Bachelor program, with a 1 year add-on focused on “Maritime Sustainability”. Rickard sees part of his role within the industry being to facilitate the creation of tangibility from the wide range of discussions, ambitions and prospects existing in the field of maritime decarbonization.

Standardising Carbon Emission Reporting in the Breakbulk Industry: Presenting the Plan
This session will present the work that has already been done by a cross section of the industry, in collaboration with Smart Freight Centre in developing a standard for reporting carbon emissions of cargo movements for the breakbulk sector. Following the success of a similar standard developed for the container sector, it is a key time to come together and formulate one clear way to report on emissions for efficiency across the board. Join this session to hear the thoughts of the industry so far, and have your say in how this should be taken forward before it is too late.
