If we had a crystal ball, it would be needed for this session! Our panellists will be discussing the continuing challenges they are facing across the supply chain and what the outlook is over the coming months and further into the future. They will delve deeper into rates, capacity, congestion, geopolitical events and how ‘normal’ will look for the industry in the short and longer term. In addition to this, our panel will discuss how fuel is impacting the market and challenges around contracting across the board. It is certainly a session not to be missed!

The US wind project pipeline is continuing to grow and the infrastructure to support this booming industry is trying its best to keep up the pace. From ports being able to offer more flexibility, to the availability of trucking companies to handle the demand, all parts of the supply chain are under pressure to be able to effectively cater to this growing industry. In addition to keeping up with demand, there are ongoing challenges around the Jones Act requirements. This session will bring together representatives from across the supply chain to discuss offshore wind development in the Americas, opportunities and where bottlenecks in the supply chain might cause issues for these projects further down the line.

Latin America is certainly a region of opportunity when it comes to projects, specifically power generation. There is no question that the demand is there and power generation is a key development area for this region looking into the future, in particular clean energy. Since 2008, there have been several low carbon pilot projects taking place in Argentina, Costa Rica and Chile and the region is set to play a prominent role in green hydrogen development. This session will look at the current project landscape when it comes to power generation, what the project pipeline looks like, where infrastructure will be needed and where the main opportunities are for the project cargo industry over the coming years.

This session will present the work that has already been done by a cross section of the industry, in collaboration with Smart Freight Centre in developing a standard for reporting carbon emissions of cargo movements for the breakbulk sector. Following the success of a similar standard developed for the container sector, it is a key time to come together and formulate one clear way to report on emissions for efficiency across the board. Join this session to hear the thoughts of the industry so far, and have your say in how this should be taken forward before it is too late.
